History of Lucas TX
Lucas TX was named after the son, Gabriel H Lucas, of an early settler. He opened a store in the area. Until the end of WWII, Lucas was known for its agriculture with crops of corn and cotton. As Dallas grew, so did the suburb of Lucas. In 1950, Lucas TX had about 100 residents. By the 2000 census, Lucas TX had almost 3000 residents.
