The first settler of Parker TX was John C Parker, but the town was named after his son William C Parker. Despite having settlers in the area as early as 1840, Parker TX was not incorporated as a city until March 22, 1969.

Prior to settlers arriving, Parker TX was just an area covered with thick prairie grass. However, once people began to populate the area, Parker TX began to sport homes as well as the Corinth Presbyterian Church, founded in 1846. It is said to be the oldest congregation in Collin County.

At one time, the St. Louis and Southwestern Railroads intended for a route to go through Parker TX. However, the tracks went through Wylie instead, keeping Parker TX a much smaller community. By 1940, there were only three businesses and a population of just 86.

Since being incorporated, Parker TX has gained a fire and police station and various road improvements. If you are looking for a home for sale in Parker TX, the Bishop Country team would be happy to help.
