Sachse TX is located in both Collin and Dallas counties. This suburb is part of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. Commute times for those looking to purchase homes for sale in Sachse TX are short, being just 26 miles from downtown Dallas.

History of Sachse TX

Sachse TX was founded by the European immigrant William Sachse. He put in the first cotton mills and gins in the county. William gave a right-of-way to the railroad in order to have the town named after him. However, the railroad created signs that read Saxie, so many early legal documents have the name of the town wrong.

By the 1920s, cotton was in competition with onions for the biggest cash crop of Sachse TX. Eventually, the trains didn’t run through Sachse TX, and the onion storage barn was blown down by a tornado.
